What inspired you to start Apex?
We started Apex because I knew I could primarily focus on providing quality service on the project I am involved with and be able to help my clients to the best of my ability instead of worrying about the pressures of going over budget or spending too much time on a project.
What’s Your Safety Story?
When I was in college there was some old vinyl flooring in the place I was living at that was in really bad shape and needed to be replaced. After calling around to different flooring contractors it sounded like the old and damaged flooring would be a problem and would have to be removed before any new vinyl flooring could be laid down. After realizing I could save money if I took the old flooring out the decision was obvious. I needed to recruit help and rip out that old floor. After my roommate and I were finished ripping out the old vinyl flooring and the contractor arrived he asked us if the flooring and mastic had been tested for asbestos. We did not have the old vinyl flooring and mastic tested for asbestos before we ripped it up. We thought nothing of it and asbestos had never entered our minds. Were we unknowingly exposed to asbestos?
